RECIPE - Homemade Cake Doughnuts




Homemade Cake Doughnuts

Ingredients:
2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 TBSP. baking powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 TBSP. butter, melted
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup half and half
1 egg, beaten
Oil for frying
Cinnamon & sugar for coating


Directions:
In a medium sized mixing bowl, combing flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon. 
Mix well.
Drizzle in melted butter.
Stir until the mixture is crumbly.

Whisk together the milk, half and half, and egg. 
Pour into the flour/butter mixture.
Stir until a ball forms.

Turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes, until dough is smooth.
Roll out to 1/4 to 1/3 inch thick.
Cut into doughnut shape.
Fry for about 60-90 seconds. 
Remove from pan.
Place on paper towel to remove excess oil.
Place into cinnamon sugar mixture.
Toss to coat.
